The idea behind Health Alternatives is to provide a social opportunity to youth and families that is inherently drug free. Youth coalition members organize and assist at the events so they are participating in a meaningful leadership capacity. Drug free messaging is displayed and promoted at these events. QPY has achieved this objective various ways in the past. The coalition generally has a presence and co-sponsors the graduation night lock in, helps to provide family movies in the park, youth social events with games after football games, and the development of a recreation guide for local sites.
