2017
YOUTH GROUP: TBH-QHS Health Club
PROJECT NAME: Youth Marijuana Use Prevention
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Since youth are strongly influenced by what others do, we chose our project to be a three-part “youth marijuana prevention social-norms campaign” comprised of education, visuals, and radio components.
Why youth marijuana use prevention?
EDUCATION – TAPS
After learning this information, our youth went to Central Washington University to get training on a new marijuana prevention pilot curriculum called “TAPS: Teens Against Pot Smoking.”
By using this promising-practice curriculum, our group taught 35 middle school students about the dangers of marijuana. All of them made a commitment to themselves to stay marijuana-free.
VISUAL – SOCIAL MEDIA
To reach a larger youth audience, we designed and will have launched a social media ad that where shared throughout our community. Those images were released on Facebook in order to receive analytical data.
AUDIO – RADIO ADS
Lastly, we wrote, produced, and released a radio ad that was broadcasted to popular and local radio stations.
